Radio Support Services |
A recent studio installation by Radio Support Services of Sydney Australia in
Papua New Guinea for Hiri FM used a quantity of Videoquip equipment. The station
comprises 2 On Air studios, a newsroom and equipment rack and will be broadcasting
on FM in Motu, the coastal language of Papua New Guinea. The great benifit of using Videoquip equipment was that Richard Fleming was able to create a custom News Workstation utilising a headset amplifier with Beyer headset together with a 10 way switcher, 6 channel mono mixer and Gentner digital hybrid. This was packaged in a custom cabinet and combined with a digital storage system to create a cost effective and very workable news environment. A cassette machine is also included to allow for material collected in the field to be easily downloaded for further editing. The same design was used in another recent build by Radio Support Services in Christchurch New Zealand for Canturbury On Air. This is a news talk radio station broadcasting on AM. Other Videoquip equipment used in both sites included a 2RU rack mounted stereo monitor amplifier combined with a 10 way switcher for control room monitoring and a must for any control room is a set of Videoquip stereo metering units. Richard Fleming of Radio Support Services has been involved in radio broadcasting for 30 years and utilises Videoquip in all installations being done now because of its versatility and the ability to mix and match Pase 3 components in a 1RU cabinet to provide cost effective solutions. Radio Support Services is the Videoquip sales agent for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and South Pacific Islands. For more information go to www.radiosupport.com. |
