The unit features four summing mono audio inputs which are presented to both channels of the headset. The microphone signal is also summed with the audio inputs, and this sidetone level is internally adjustable. Two microphone audio outputs carry the amplified microphone signal only. All inputs and outputs are balanced. The HDST-1 provides a great deal of flexibility when connecting a headset to any system.
A remote connector allows the microphone to be muted, and the entire headset to be turned on and off. A tally is also provided for headset on.
The microphone preamplifier has adjustable gain, and includes a compressor with adjustable threshold and ratio controls.
